Good marketing starts with understanding who you're actually talking to — what they want, what they fear, and where they already are. The message follows from that, not the other way around.

A clear idea, said simply, beats a clever one nobody remembers. I'd rather cut a campaign down to the one thing that matters than crowd it with everything that could.

My economics background means I treat marketing as something to test, not just create. If a channel or message isn't earning its place, the numbers should say so — and so should I.
